The Ask

Certus (formerly American Safety Council) approached our team with the task of rebranding in an effort to highlight their position as a modern training technology company. A new site was needed to showcase this transformation and provide a space for the narrative of the new brand to unfold.

The Challenges

From the beginning, we worked to craft a product that would act as a showcase for the new look-and-feel. With such vibrant and modern brand elements at our disposal, our team knew we needed to push the layout and design to its fullest potential.

Educate

Given the fact that Certus’ business was based on training tech, it was clear that education needed to be a key focus, looking for ways to inform users about a brand they were unfamiliar with. As a result, the vision for this site became a “digital brochure” that would inform users not only about Certus’ product offerings, but also the company itself.

Entice

We had the task of speaking to two distinct audiences: 
potential employees and potential investors. Through copy, content, and overall structure, we were compelled to create a product that felt useful to both user sets, while still telling one cohesive story.

The Process

As UX Designer on this project, I was excited to transform strategy into a structure for the new site. My first focus was to organize the pages in a way that told an engaging brand story. This was accomplished by transitioning components on each page from high-level to more granular as the user scrolls, allowing for a natural unpacking of information. I also implemented dynamic components, such as infinitely scrolling icons and hoverable containers, that would evoke a sense of exploration and sustain the user’s attention. CTAs were intentionally spaced throughout the site to allow the users to dive more into their interests, and a contact button was set to always remain visible, making it easy for potential employees and investors to get in touch at any time.

All pages were interconnected in order to tell one grand narrative.

The Result

Through UX and Design efforts, our team was able to craft the Certus site into a beautiful storytelling platform. Focusing on systematically highlighting who Certus is and their significance to the user, we ensured that content remained engaging and authentic by featuring real people. The website demonstrates the company's credibility and success by showcasing their partnerships and collaborations while encouraging user interaction and engagement with this new brand.
